Lambing Season 2026, a mix of emotions, life and death

Lambing season is full of emotions. Joy, love, sadness, compassion. It’s a time to remember our vulnerability and that our ability to control our lives is limited, requiring a depth of faith in the bigger web of life. Rather than share too much of the hard parts of lambing season, I’ll share some of the fun and glorious parts.

Click the link below to see some fun videos, from giving birth to meeting Annie, one of our bummer lambs who weathered the storm of birth, and has shown stamina and courage to gain confidence in her ability to survive and thrive.

Plus, in true Freedom Cowgirl™ spirit I successfully held down a ewe and pulled her lamb out all by myself, and the baby lived! At first I didn’t think I could do it on my own. But the ewe and I made an agreement to work together. She still stops to thank me when she goes out to the green fields each morning.
